Bourne Legacy casting call for 1000 extras false, PHL producer says
Contrary to a spreading rumor, the producers of the movie Bourne Legacy said on Friday that they did not send out a casting call for Filipino extras. Bourne Legacy Philippine producer Lope ‘Jun’ Juban Jr. denied that they are looking for 1000 extras to be part of the film. Juban said the names cited in the web entries are unknown to him and are not part of the film’s local unit, Philippine Film Studios, Inc. Last January 4, film site www.onlocationvacation.
"We are in need of Stand-in Talents for Lead Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz. Please send your picture with name, age, height and contact number to jilbert_bmx@yahoo.com or text 09153080403. Look for Oghie- talent coordinator."
The supposed talent coordinator, Oghie, told GMA News Online that he was a sub-agent of a certain Armand Gutierrez. GMA News Online has been unable to reach Gutierrez as of posting time. [Update] GMA News Online has also been trying to contact ‘Casting Calls Manila’ to hear their side. Juban said there is no Oghie on his staff and the film only has one casting contact. Juban identified the contact simply as Julie—with whom they have had a working relationship spanning more than two decades. If the film would ever need extras, Juban said they will tap those already on location because those persons would be familiar with the immediate environment and will act naturally. Earlier, Metro Manila police head Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima said the film’s producers have not yet coordinated with the police on where and when the filming will take place. Purisima said the producers must coordinate with the police on big productions like this for security matters and traffic management. — ELR/HS, GMA News
