'Katipunan' episode VII: The Tejeros Convention

Katipunan episode VII
The Tejeros Convention
Airing date: December 7, 2013
10:15 PM, GMA-7

Five years after co-founding the Katipunan, Andres Bonifacio finds himself betrayed and dethroned by the men he calls brothers.

While the revolution spreads, the bickering between the Magdalo ang Magdiwang factions heats up. The Supremo is forced to mediate. With just Oriang, his brothers Ciriaco and Procopio and a handful of supporters, Andres meets with the leaders of the two groups in Cavite.

But instead of producing an agreement, the meeting turns into an election and Andres is forced to preside over it. In absentia, Emilio Aguinaldo is elected president. Andres gets passed over every major position available.

He finally gets enough votes as Secretary of the Interior, but his credentials are questioned by Daniel Tirona, an Aguinaldo ally. This angers the Supremo, who draws his gun and demands an apology. He declares the results of the election null and void and walks out.

Away from Tejeros, Aguinaldo scores a huge win against Spanish forces. He defeats Gen. Ernesto Aguirre, boosting the morale of Katipuneros in Cavite.

After the Tejeros convention, Andres and his supporters leave Cavite while Aguinaldo and his supporters meet to try to preserve the positions they have won. A priest swears them into office.

Meanwhile, Sebastian finds himself in the company of a motley crew: a guardia civil officer who defected to the Katipunan, a young lady abandoned by her Spanish father, and wounded Katipuneros. However, their varied reasons for joining the revolution end in tragedy.

Katipunan’s cast is led by Sid Lucero as Andres and Glaiza de Castro as Oriang. Benjamin Alves stars as Sebastian and Nico Antonio is Emilio Aguinaldo.
