Rainy season officially here —PAGASA

State weather forecasters announced the onset of the rainy season on Wednesday afternoon, May 30.

PAGASA had earlier noted a steady increase in rainy weather across the country due to the increasing influence of the Habagat Southwest Monsoon.

"The occurrence of widespread rainfall recorded in most PAGASA stations monitored in the last five days... confirms the onset of the rainy season," the agency said in a statement.

"Intermittent to continuous rains and thunderstorms, associated with the Southwest Monsoon, will continue to affect Metro Manila and the western section of the country," PAGASA added. — GMA News
