Tail-end of cold front affecting northern Luzon — PAGASA

The tail-end of a cold front is affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon, state weather bureau PAGASA said on Sunday.

In its afternoon weather bulletin, PAGASA warned residents of Cagayan Valley region against possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains that the tail-end of the cold front will bring.

Meanwhile, Vinta, which has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), will still affect Palawan, causing cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms in the area.

As of 3 p.m., PAGASA spotted Vinta at 345 kilometers south-southwest of Pagasa Island, Palawan, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 160 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA also said easterlies are affecting the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon, warning the Bicol region and the provinces of Quezon and northern Samar against possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

PAGASA also said the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and Central Luzon will be experiencing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, were also forecast to experience possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains caused by localized thunderstorms. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA News
