Light to heavy rain expected over Mindanao, the Eastern Visayas


Weather service PAGASA reported in a Saturday morning forecast that a low-pressure area (LPA) was 505 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur at 3 a.m.

The LPA's trough was expected to bring cloudy conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Mindanao and the Eastern Visayas

The northeast monsoon was meanwhile expected to bring cloudy conditions with scattered rain over the Cagayan Valley Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region and Aurora; and partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.

The rest of the country would partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers.

Winds would be strong to gale force from the northeast over northern and Central Luzon, where coastal waters would be rough to very rough. 

Over the rest of Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas, winds would be moderate to strong from the northeast to north with moderate to rough seas.

Winds over the rest of the country, winds would be light to moderate from the northeast to north with slight to moderate coastal waters. — DVM, GMA News
