Domeng to bring moderate to heavy rain over Luzon

Severe  Tropical Storm Domeng (international name Maliksi) strengthened yet again even as it accelerated northeastwards at 32 kilometers per hour, weather service PAGASA reported in a Sunday morning forecast.

At 3 a.m., Domeng was 855 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes, with sustained winds of 100 kph and gusts up to 120 kph.

Domeng, along with the southwest  monsoon, would bring moderate to occasional heavy rain over Luzon, while the southwest monsoon and the monsoon's trough would bring cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms over the Visayas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers could meanwhile be expected over Mindanao.

Winds would be strong to gale force from the southwest over Central Luzon, the northern and eastern sections of northern Luzon, and the western and southern sections of southern Luzon. Coastal waters along all these areas would be from rough to very rough.

Over the rest of the country, winds would be moderate to strong from the south to southwest with moderate to rough seas. — DVM, GMA News
