LOW-PRESSURE AREA EXITS THE PAR

Moderate to heavy rain expected over north Luzon areas – PAGASA

PAGASA reported in a Wednesday morning forecast that the low-pressure area to the northeast of Luzon and the tropical storm to the west with the international name Bibinca would continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, though less so than they had the last few days as the LPA had exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility and Bibinca continued to make its way further west.

At 3 a.m., the LPA was 725 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes and outside the PAR.

TS Bibinca was meanwhile 945 kms west of extreme northern Luzon, and also outside the PAR.

Bibinca had 65 kilometer per hour sustained winds, which could gust up to 90 kph.

Because these two systems were enhancing the southwest monsoon, albeit less significantly, the Ilocos and Cordillera Administrative Regions, the Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands could still expect moderate to occasionally heavy rain.

The southwest monsoon would also bring occasional rain over Zambales and Bataan; as well as partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain or thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon.

The Visyayas and Mindanao could meanwhile expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions accompanied with isolated rainshowers.

Winds would be strong to gale force from the southwest  over the northern and western sections of northern Luzon, and the western section of Central Luzon. Coastal waters along all these areas would be rough to very rough.

Over the rest of the country, winds would be moderate to strong from the southwest with moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA also reported that Severe Tropical Storm Leepi was 1,610 kms northeast  of extreme northern Luzon, having never entered the PAR.

Leepi had 80kph sustained winds which gusted up to 110 kph, and was moving northwest at 30 kph. — DVM, GMA News
