Rainy weekend ahead due to Habagat, thunderstorms

PAGASA  warned of a rainy weekend ahead as the southwest monsoon is expected to bring scattered rains to Luzon, particularly over Ilocos Region, Zambales and Bataan.

According to the 4 p.m. weather advisory on Friday, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may also experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Affected residents were advised to prepare for possible flooding and landslides.

As of 3 p.m., PAGASA spotted Tropical Storm Soulik at 2,060 kilometers East of extreme Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds moving 105 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 130 kph.
