Regine Velasquez-Alcasid officially waves goodbye to Kapuso Network —GMA exec

Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is officially leaving GMA Network, her home station for two decades, an executive of the network confirmed on Saturday.

"After two decades, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has officially said her goodbyes to the Kapuso Network. We understand her decision to join her husband and we wish her well as she pursues other opportunities outside GMA Network," Senior Vice President for GMA Entertainment Content Group Lilybeth Rasonable said in a statement.

Rumors on Regine's transfer to ABS-CBN Network have already been swirling, with reports that the veteran singer no longer renewed her contract with GMA Network.

This led to some speculating that the GMA singing competition "The Clash" would be her last television show, in which she is the host, with the network.

Rasonable's announcement came around the same time of the airing of Sarap Diva's sixth anniversary episode, where Regine also said her goodbyes and thanked her GMA bosses.

"Kay Miss Darling, maraming maraming salamat. Thank you miss Darling for all the opportunities that you have given me. Sila ma'am Lilybeth, sila Redgie, all my bosses, siyempre ang aking mga boss talaga, mga top, si Mr. Gozon atsaka si Mr. Duavit. I have stayed here for two decades. Maramaing maraming salamat po sa tiwalang ibinigay niyo sa akin and for taking good care of me... And most of all, 'yung second mom ko, si Miss Wilma. Maraming maraming salamat ma'am Wilma."

Regine, as well, thanked the show's director, staff and everyone she has worked with in the program.

"'Yung six years na 'yun, like I said andami kong natutunan. Nakilala ko lahat. And dito po sa Sarap Diva, talagang family na po kami."
