Tickets for Chris Botti’s PHL concert with Sting priced higher than Madonna’s

The P57,000 SVIP ticket price for the Manila leg of Madonna's Rebel Heart World Tour in 2016 shocked many Filipinos earlier this year, but American trumpeter and composer Chris Botti and English musician Sting are about to prove that ticket prices could still go higher.

"Chris Botti featuring Sting: Up Close and Personal" was confirmed this week, with ticket prices ranging from P11,864 to P64,716.

The concert will mark both artists' third performance in the Philippines, but it will be their first time to perform together.

The concert will be held in the Marriott Grand Ballroom of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on March 3, 2016.

Tickets prices are as follows (from TicketWorld):

Price Zone 1 (Stage Seats) - P64,716
Price Zone 2 (SVIP) - P43,144
Price Zone 3 (VIP) - P36,672.40
Price Zone 4 (Gold) - P30,200.80
Price Zone 5 (Silver) - P18,336.20
Price Zone 6 (Bronze) - P11,864.60

The high prices immediately invited comparisons to Madonna's first concert in the Philippines, which is set to happen on February 24, 2016 at the SM Mall of Asia.

Tickets for the Rebel Heart World Tour range from P3,150 for general admission to P57,750 for the SVIP section.

Chris Botti and Sting have definitely made their marks in the music industry.

Botti, best known for fusing jazz and pop music, won the Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album for his album "Impressions."

Four of his albums have also reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard jazz albums chart since he first claimed his spot in the limelight in 2001 with "Night Sessions."

Ex-Police frontman Sting is one of the most recognizable names and faces in music. Apart from selling millions of albums as a member of The Police and as a solo artist, he has also been nominated for several Grammy Awards. His wins as a solo artist include Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You" (1994), Best Pop Vocal Album for "Brand New Day" (1999) and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the title track. — Bianca Rose Dabu/BM, GMA News
