Winwyn Marquez cried while calling mom Alma Moreno on Reina Hispanoamericana win
Newly crowned Reina Hispanoamericana Winwyn Marquez was crying while calling her mom, actress Alma Moreno, about her win in the contest in Bolivia on Saturday evening (Sunday morning in Manila).
"Si Winwyn, tumawag sa akin, siguro mga after two hours siguro... Umiiyak. Umiiyak din ako sa phone na sobrang saya, 'di mo pa rin mapaliwanag," Moreno shared on Unang Balita on Monday.

Marquez was the first Filipina and Asian to compete in Bolivia's contest and was hailed a favorite and "La Reina De Asia" before her arrival in the South American country.
The mother of the beauty queen recalled being nervous when Marquez was included in the top 10 of the competition, nearly in tears after making it to the top 5, and screamed when picked as one of the top 2.
Moreno, accompanied by her brother and aunt, was supposed to be with her daughter but was held back due to her health.
"Dapat kasama ako pero hindi ako pinayagan ng doctor kasi masyadong mataas 'yung altitude doon, hindi ko kakayanin 'yung biyahe talaga, two days? Mahihirapan ako," she said.
She did, however, get a lot of calls from her daughter, whom she had always supported in her beauty queen goals.
"Kaya nga siya pinag-aral ko ng ballet, ng gymnast, lahat 'yun talagang binigay ko. Hilig niya talaga, maliit pa siya, 'yun na talaga gusto niya," Moreno recalled, adding that Marquez was also inspired by her aunt Melanie Marquez.
When her daughter failed to make it in Binibining Pilipinas 2015, Moreno advised her daughter that there may be bigger contests for her to win in the future.
"Sabi ko sa kanya, hindi para sa 'yo 'yan. Siguro merong mas magandang balak sa 'yo ang Panginoon na doon ka, may ibibigay sa 'yo," she said.
Moreno then thanked her daughter's supporters for voting for her through social media and giving her support throughout the contest. —Rie Takumi/KG, GMA News
