Lea Salonga is theater fans' pick for best featured actress in a musical

Theater luminary Lea Salonga has been chosen in BroadwayWorld's Theater Fans Choice Awards as best featured actress in a musical for her turn as  Erzulie, goddess of love  in Once On This Island.

The Miss Saigon Tonay Awardee posted a thank you note on her social media account:

Once On This Island was also chosen for Best Choreography by Camille A. Brown, Alex Newell for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, Hailey Kilgore for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, Best Lighting Design by Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer, Best Orchestrations by AnnMarie Milazzo and Michael Starobin.

The same musical also bagged, Best Revival of a Musical, Best Scenic Design by Dane Laffrey, Best Sound Design of a Musical by Peter Hylenski, and Broadway's Backbone Best Musical Ensemble.

Other notable winners are movie actor Andrew Garfield for Best Leading Actor in a Play and veteran actress Glenda Jackson for Best Leading Actress in a Play. — BAP, GMA News
