Palace expresses condolences over death of singer Rico J. Puno

Malacañang expressed its condolences over the death of OPM icon Rico J. Puno who succumbed to heart failure on Tuesday.

“We express our condolences to a legend that is Rico J. Puno. He has contributed a lot in the music industry,” presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said at a press briefing.

Panelo described Puno as a “personal friend” whom the Palace official had a duet in one show some four years ago.

Born Enrico de Jesus Puno, the music icon was behind hit songs "Kapalaran", "May Bukas Pa", "Macho Gwapito" and "Magkasuyo Buong Gabi."

He was supposed to hold a concert in November.

Puno also ventured into politics, having been elected as Makati City councilor.
