Pacquiao enjoys 'good' Pinoy meal before fight vs. Matthysse

Hours before his fight for the WBA welterweight title with Argentinian Lucas Matthysse on Sunday, boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao savored a "good" meal of Filipino food in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

On Facebook, Pacquiao posted a photo of him dining with the caption "Good meal before heading to the arena. #PacquiaoMatthysse".

Before Pacquiao were dishes of what looked like Filipino food such as chicken adobo, tinolang manok, pritong isda, and a vegetable dish, probably ginisang sayote.

He also had a banana for dessert.

Pacquiao will go inside the ring against Matthysse on Sunday morning before an enthusiastic crowd at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur.

President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to watch the fight.

Both Pacquiao and Matthysse met the required weight on Saturday during the weigh-in at the Malaysia International Trade and Convention Center in Kuala Lumpur.

Pacquiao weighed 146 pounds, while Matthysse weighed 146.7 pounds, both under the welterweight division's limit of 147 pounds.

GMA-7 will air the fight on free TV at 10 a.m., with radio coverage to be handled by Super Radyo dzBB. —KG, GMA News
