PBA: GlobalPort gets the win as Road Warriors continue to struggle

The NLEX Road Warriors dropped their fourth game in five outings, this time bowing to the GlobalPort Batang Pier, 116-94, in the elimination round of the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

GlobalPort’s starters scored 86 big points, led by Sean Anthony who had 21, and Malcolm White who had 20 markers and 14 boards. Stanley Pringle tallied 19, while young guns Nico Elorde and Julius Sargent combined for 26.

After trailing by just three after a pair of Alex Mallari charities, NLEX allowed a 17-7 blast that gave the Batang Pier a 13-point edge with 5:07 left in the third, 74-61.

GlobalPort had an answer to every NLEX make, with Mo Tautuaa and Sean Anthony stretching the lead to 20 points early in the fourth, 95-75. A late 7-0 by the Road Warriors halfway through the payoff period proved to be too late, as Nico Elorde and Julius Sargent helped Malcolm White and Tautuaa provide the strong finish for the win.

NLEX import Arnett Moultrie had 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Kiefer Ravena was the lone bright spot for the locals. Ravena scored 24 points with a high 57 percent shooting clip, but the rest of the starters combined for just 12 more.

With the loss, the Road Warriors are now at 1-4, just ahead on winless San Miguel (0-2) and Blackwater (0-5). — LA, GMA News
