German football club Bayern Munich greets PHL on Independence Day

Top German football club Bayern Munich joined the chorus of greeters for the Philippines' Independence Day, posting a graphic featuring its players with the Philippine flag.

The club has some links to the Philippines, with star left back David Alaba having Filipino lineage.

Alaba, who will be turning 25 in less than two weeks, was born to a Filipino mother and a Nigerian father in Austria, where he suits up for the national squad. —JST, GMA News
