Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles head coach Bo Perasol apologized in a message to university president Fr. Jett Villarin and team backer Manuel V. Pangilinan, Monday, for his actions at the end of his side's 66-64 loss to arch-rivals DLSU Green Archers last weekend.

In a copy of the message obtained by GMA News Online from team manager Paolo Trillo, Perasol expressed regret for the "un-Atenean-like behavior" and added, "The better part of me should have avoided the confrontation by turning my other cheek. As it turned out I was caught off guard and the worse (not yet worst) part of me prevailed.
"In retrospect, I thought that the action that really ticked me off was the blatant display of arrogance and disrespect against my players and my person, which I can't just normally turn a blind eye and deaf ear to.
"My actions may have put Ateneo in bad light and I'm sorry to have acted the way I did."

In an interview with GMA News Online's Carlo Pamintuan after the incident, Perasol had explained his actions by saying, "I just gave him [one of the heckling fans] a piece of my mind kasi he didn't have to do that.
"For me kasi, we've handled it the way we should, we gave credit where credit is due. La Salle played well. I shook hands with their coaches and players after the game. I don't think his actions reflect what a true La Sallian is."
Perasol had charged towards a group of La Salle fans heckling him and his team as they headed towards the dugout at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum. A barrier and arena personnel prevented things from getting physical. - AMD, GMA News
