Non-stop transatlantic flights and interviews can tire any man, more so one who is almost 77 years old. So imagine my pleasant surprise as I entered the room where I was to interview THE Sir Patrick Stewart for his new movie "Logan." He was about to pick up his cup of tea for a mini-respite from back-to-back interviews when he turned and saw that I had already been ushered in. He immediately put down his drink and proceeded to welcome me for my one on one interview with him.

I told him that I wouldn’t mind standing by but he insisted in not making me wait at all. Such a gentleman Sir Patrick is, but then again, was there ever any doubt?

His long, distinguished career speaks of his unquestionable talent as a thespian. He has a distinct voice and a manner of speaking that sets him apart from other actors. From Shakespeare to Star Trek’s Jean-Luc Picard, he can play them all.

But perhaps no character is more associated with him than Professor Charles Xavier, the leader of the mutant X-Men. Through Charles, Stewart was introduced to a new legion of fans who, with the movie Logan, will see him play Charles for very the last time.

As an X-Men fan, I am sad Stewart will end his run alongside Hugh Jackman who plays the titular character Logan and Wolverine. But after watching the movie myself, I can fully agree with Stewart that there is no more perfect ending for his character than this. —JST, GMA News
