Water service interruption to continue as Maynilad repairs burst water pipeline
Maynilad customers in some areas will still have water service interruption on Sunday, June 8, 2025, as the company continues repairing a damaged water pipeline in Manila.
Water service will continue to be interrupted on Sunday for around 352,000 Maynilad customers in Manila, Las Piñas City, Parañaque City, and Pasay City in Metro Manila, and Rosario, Bacoor City, Cavite City, Imus City, Kawit, and Noveleta in Cavite, Maynilad Water said in a statement posted on its social media accounts.
"Natapos na ang excavation sa site ngayong umaga, at sinisimulan na muli ang dewatering upang ma-expose ang na-damage na bahagi ng malaking tubo," the company said.
(The excavation at the site was finished this morning, and dewatering will start to expose the damaged water pipeline.)
"Bagamat tuloy-tuloy ang trabaho ng aming field teams, natatagalan ang ilang aktibidad sa site dahil sa malakas na ulan. Ito ay upang masiguro rin ang kaligtasan ng aming mga tauhan," it added.
(Although our field teams have been continuously working, the repair activity on site slowed down as heavy rains poured. This is to ensure the safety of our personnel.)
"Dahil dito, kinakailangan naming i-extend ang service interruption sa mga apektadong customer," the company said.
(Because of this, we need to extend the service interruption for affected customers.)
The list of affected customers is in the company's social media post below:

Maynilad said its mobile tankers will again go around communities on Sunday to deliver clean water.
It has also put stationary water tanks in some areas to provide water to customers while the repair activity continues.
On Friday, Maynilad received a report from the city engineer of Manila that there was an unusual strong flow of water at the construction site for the New Pritil Public Market in Tondo.
A third-party contractor accidentally hit Maynilad's 2.2-meter diameter water pipeline.
As a result, Maynilad customers in the above-mentioned areas had water service interruption starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, and this was supposed to end at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 8.
Maynilad said its field teams have been working round the clock to finish the repairs. It will give updates regarding developments.
The company asked the public for understanding due to the inconvenience the incident caused.
Meanwhile, Maynilad said it has already talked with the third party contractor who promised to face the consequences of the incident.
"Mukhang hindi na-coordinate sa atin ito nang maaga so kausap na namin sila ngayon. And definitely, kailangan silang managot... Hindi naman daw nila tatakbuhan ang kanilang obligasyon," Maynilad corporate communications head Jennifer Rufo said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.
(It looks like no coordination was earlier made with our office [regarding the construction] so we are talking with [the third party contractor now]. And definitely, they have to pay for it... They said they will not run away from their obligation.) —KG, GMA Integrated News
