Female college student in Tuguegarao shot by male classmate and alleged boyfriend in school parking lot


A female college student was shot by her male classmate and alleged boyfriend inside their university in Tuguegarao on Monday afternoon.

According to the report of "24 Oras," the wounded victim, a third year Medical Technology student, was found bleeding and lying in the parking lot of St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) Tuguegarao at around 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Concerned citizens heard the victim’s cry for help and she was rushed to the Cagayan United Doctors Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect, identified as Kristian Rafael Ramos, immediately fled after the incident. He was later surrendered by his father and is now in police custody.

Prior to the shooting, two school employees allegedly saw the suspect beating the victim inside a parked Hyundai Accent.

The report said a security guard and library staff tried to help the victim, but the suspect pointed a handgun at them. As the duo tried to flee, a shot rang out, hitting the victim.  

Meanwhile, school officials said they have the situation under control and are coordinating with authorities.
