51-year-old man drowns in crowded Aklan resort

A 51-year-old man drowned in a crowded swimming pool at a farm resort in the town of Lezo, Aklan.

According to Super Radyo Kalibo’s Lyneth Mendoza on Monday, the Lezon Municipal Police said the victim was drinking with friends when decided to take a dip into the pool. 

His friends thought was just diving deep into the pool until he floated to the surface unconscious. The victim was immediately rescued and was brought to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival. 

While there was a lifeguard in the resort, he said he failed to notice the victim due to the large crowd in the pool. 

Meanwhile, the victim’s family are convinced that there was no foul play as the resort’s CCTV captured his drowning. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
