Binibining Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold reveals national costume

It's only a matter of hours before Binibining Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold competes for the Miss International crown, and she's making sure she remains memorable as she just revealed her national costume several hours ago.

In her most recent post on Instagram, Hannah posted a photo of her at the Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar wearing a Filipiniana gown designed by Manny Halasan. Nicknamed “Pamana,” the costume is inspired by a Barbie doll wearing Filipiniana that Hannah had as a child, as well as Manny Halasan's own fond memories of his grandfather's antique tambourine.

The costume reveal is probably that last thing Hannah will be able to post on Instagram as the coronation night is set to happen tonight, December 13, at Japan's Tokyo Dome City Hall.

The pageant coronation night is the culmination of a year-long wait for Hannah, who was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International back in 2021. Because of the global coronavirus pandemic, Hannah was unable to compete as the Miss International pageant was not staged.

Before flying off to Japan, Hannah took part in send-offs organized by two different groups. The first to do so was the Department of Science and Technology, a send-off that Hannah called “beautiful and heartwarming” and moved her to promise that she would raise the flag not only of the country but science and technology as well.

The Binibining Pilipinas organization also organized a send-off for her that she described as “a dream come true.”

Hannah also celebrated World Children's Day before her departure, sharing several photos of her doing activities with schoolchildren, such as reading a book to them as well as handing out school supplies.

Should Hannah emerge victorious, she would be the fourth Filipino queen to do so, following Precious Lara Quigaman, Bea Santiago, and Kylie Verzosa.
