Pinoy MD: Three ways to losing belly fat fast

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

With the temperatures increasing daily due to summer heat, it's best to keep your health in check by making sure you're getting enough exercise the body needs to prevent stroke.

But before you start burning off your much-needed calories and going on crash diets, you need to first understand the two kinds of fat that are underlying in your belly area.

According to Pinoy MD, the stomach is the fastest area to enlarge because it has the most number of adipose tissue or “body fat” among other parts of the body.

The first type of fat is called a “subcutaneous fat” that is characterized by soft fat tissues lying underneath the skin.

Meanwhile, the second type of fat called “visceral fat” is characterized by a hardened fat located inside the abdominal cavity packed between the organs resulting in a protruding abdomen or the so-called “beer belly.”

The second one is also more dangerous because visceral fat is linked with type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, inflammatory diseases, and other obesity-related diseases.

So how do you lose all these excess fat in a short amount of time?

Well, according to health trainer Jeff Lopez there are three easy steps to making sure you're getting the optimal burn at a less amount of time.

Firstly, he advised checking with a dietician the proper diet for your lifestyle. That means it's a no-no to crash diets and fasting.

He explains, “Let's say every three hours, kumakain kami para at least nasu-sustain namin 'yung energy consumption ng katawan tapos natutulungan namin 'yung metabolism namin.”

Second, it's all about intensity when it comes to working out. Jeff explains that when a person does a high-intensity workout, your heart needs to pump out more oxygen through the veins thus consuming more energy leading to faster calorie burn.

Third, is to never lose discipline in both your exercise and diet.

Jeff notes that while most people have good intentions when it comes to their health, it's the discipline that separates those with success stories and those that do not.

He says, “Dun nagmamanifest 'yung results ng diet at exercise.”
