'Click, Shoot, Inspire' for Philippine Independence Day

The Philippines will celebrate its 122nd Independence Day on June 12, but the Quezon City Tourism Department will have a month-long celebration with the launch of its photography contest called “Click, Shoot, Inspire”.

This year's theme for the said contest is “Kalayaan Tungo sa Bansang Malaya, Nagbabayanihan at Ligtas”.

The competition is open to all amateur Filipino photographers aged 18 years old and above.

Only one photo per contestant is allowed, and only photos taken from January 2020 onwards are allowed.

All photo entries should be the own original photo of the contestants, taken using any of the following cameras: SLR, iPhone, and any android phones with camera.

Post-processing or editing of the image should be limited to cropping and color enhancements, including shadows and highlights only.

If photos were enhanced, contestants must submit the original “unedited” or “raw” copy along with the edited photo.

Entries/photos that already won in other national contests will not be allowed.

Submission of entries will be done in two batches:

Batch 1: June 19, 2020
Batch 2: June 26, 2020

The criteria for judging are as follows:

40% - Relevance to the theme
30% - Artistic value and communication potential of the image
30% - Clarity of the image

And, the prizes for the winning entries are the following:

First Place Winner: 5,000 pesos worth of items from the QC Tourism Dept.
Second Place Winner: 3,000 pesos worth of items from the Qc Tourism Dept.
Third Place Winner: 1000 pesos worth of items

There will also be consolation Prizes for two other winners.

Instructions on how to claim the prizes will be sent through e-mail or private message.

To join, all contestants must first fill out the registration form on the link provided in the QC Tourism Department's Facebook page.

And, all entries should be submitted to QCTD@quezoncity.gov.ph (in Jpeg format with at least 351 dpi and maximum size of 10 MB).
