Pabili apps you can use to buy essentials online

By Bianca Geli

While the threat of COVID-19 is still prevailing, pabili services provide solutions for people who must stay home.

You no longer have to endure waiting in a long line at a grocery while worrying about social distancing.

You can now have peace of mind while shopping online and receive your orders on the same day while helping riders who benefit from the income they get out of delivering your orders.

The pabili service is quite simple. Customers book their orders through the courier's mobile app or website and input the list of items they need.

The system then matches the customer with a rider near to the pick-up location.

Once a rider accepts the booking, he will go to the store and purchase the items.

The customer can track the order status in real-time through the app while waiting for the items to be purchased.

After buying all the ordered items, the rider delivers the order and receives the payment from the customer through an online cashless transaction or cash-on-delivery.

It's important to note that there might be a maximum size allowed for each order--anything bigger than the standard dimension might be discouraged as it cannot be carried by the rider on motorcycle or bike.

Here are some pabili service apps you can try for a fast delivery.

MyKuya

MyKuya provides access to trained quality partners who can help you with your daily tasks such as food and grocery deliveries, bill payments, cleaning, even pet sitting.

The app has partnered with retail companies like SM Supermalls, Robinsons, and Ayala malls, as well as various establishments.

heir service rate starts at PHP 49 and MyKuya delivers to areas around Metro Manila. Payment methods are accepted through cash, credit and debit cards, and GCash.

GrabExpress Pabili

GrabExpress Pabili is a new feature offered by Grab Philippines.

You can book a rider through the Grab app to buy your essentials and other items from available stores nearby.

Your order shouldn't exceed PHP 2000 and 20 kilograms and should be within the standard dimension of 25 x 32 x 12 cm.

This service is different from Grab's other features like GrabExpress Instant, GrabFood, and GrabMart.

Covered areas are within Metro Manila, Bacolod, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Pampanga.

Payments made through credit and debit cards, cash, and GrabPay are accepted. Transactions are started after a booking has been confirmed, advance booking is not allowed.

Lalamove

Lalamove is known for its delivery service but the app has now expanded to offering pabili services.

Riders can buy food, groceries, clothing, and other items as long as they do not exceed the PHP2,000 and 20 kilogram limit.

Their pabili service allows booking in advance for pabili requests. Lalamove offers this service for Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal. Payments must be made through cash.

Technology has made grocery shopping a lot safer for customers who need to stay at home.

One way to help the riders delivering your order is to check if your items are correct before confirming a booking to avoid sudden detail changes or cancellation of order.

Also, monitor your app while the order is being processed in case your rider needs additional information regarding your order and location.

For your safety, don't forget to wear a mask and observe social distancing while picking up your deliveries. Disinfecting your deliveries before using them is a must.

Lastly, leave a good review and/or some tip for your pabili service riders and keep in mind that a little help can go a long way.
