MUJI

Japanese minimalist brand MUJI is opening its largest store in the Philippines this March--which is actually just a few days from now!

The store is actually an extended version of MUJI's current store on the 4th level, East Wing of the Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City.

From its original size of 400 square meters, it has been expanded to a whopping 1,400 square meters.

The largest MUJI will be offering around 4,000 items, including health and beauty products, kitchenware, houseware, furniture, travel essentials, pens and stationery, electronic products and apparel for men, women, and children.

Speaking of apparel, MUJI will also be launching its exclusive unisex clothing line called Labo.

They will also have respective advisors for three specific segments: an interior advisor for furniture, a styling advisor for concerns about size, color, and fit, and an experience advisor for the stationery, health, and beauty departments.

There will also be an Open MUJI space dedicated for MUJI concepts and several activities.

And to continue MUJI's efforts to reduce plastic waste, they will have a water refilling station in their largest Philippine store and also sell reusable water bottles for P160 each.

IKEA

IKEA is one of the world's largest furniture retailers. It grew more popular to millennials thanks to that memorable scene of Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in 500 Days of Summer.

The Swedish furniture manufacturer is set to finally open its first store in the Philippines in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2021.

The Philippine launch was originally scheduled in 2020, but just like many other launches, it had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their first-ever branch in the Philippines is set to be their biggest store in the world. It is located at the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City and will have a floor area of 65,000-square meters.

IKEA is said to hire nearly 500 workers for its first Philippine branch and will offer around 9,000 products, which could possibly include food products and Philippine-made items.

The brand's iconic logo is already installed in its flagship store in Pasay City, so it looks like its opening this year will likely to push through.

Plus, reports say that IKEA's online operations will begin ahead of the store's opening,

COS

COS is a London-based clothing brand popular for its Scandinavian-inspired minimalist designs.

It's part of the H&M Group and is the third brand from their family of brands to land on Philippine shores.

Its product offerings are more high-end, modern and functional compared to its sister brand H&M.

The brand was launched in 2007 and currently has over 200 stores in more than 40 markets.

There's still limited information regarding the launch of COS in the Philippines, but reports say its first store in the Philippines is set to open in spring 2021 at SM Aura Premier.

Nevertheless, Pinoy fans of the brand are excited to get their hands on some COS items once their first Philippine branch opens soon.
