SHINee gives sneak preview of latest track 'Atlantis' in Beyond Live concert

Princes of K-pop SHINee made Easter Sunday extra special for their fans (called SHINee World or Shawols) as they held their first-ever online concert titled “SHINee: SHINee World” through Naver's Beyond Live channel.

During the more than two-hour concert, the legendary SM Entertainment boy group performed a number of their hit songs, including “Good Evening,” “Married to the Music,” “Hello,” “View,” “Sherlock,” and “Everybody.”

They also danced their hearts away to some of their songs from their latest album 'Don't Call Me' such as its title track, “Heart Attack,” “CODE,” “I Really Want You,” “Attention,” and “Kiss Kiss.”

They also got to interact with their fans by reading the live comments in their feed and spoke about how it's like to conduct a concert thru live streaming for the first time.

Leader Onew said, “Now that we're doing a concert, it feels like everyone is with us [here]. The audience doesn't feel so far away as I thought they would be.”

Additionally, Minho said, “I didn't know this during rehearsals, but seeing the wave of light sticks, it made me realize that communication is what completes a real concert.”

Main dancer Taemin added, “I felt a new kind of nervousness when doing an online concert. In an in-person concert, a mistake can at least amuse an audience but this has a different feel.”

Furthermore, the group also openly talked about their recent activities following the release of their seventh studio album, including the famous ending fairy that they trended during its promotions.

Key, the originator of the trend, said, “I didn't know that the ending fairy had so much influence. Now I'm pressured to think more creatively next time.”

Taemin shared, “Everybody loved it. Even Super Junior members watched the performance and made it their own! Kyuhyun and Heechul's versions were hilarious. Key has become the front-runner of 'ending fairies,' just like in airport fashion.”

Mid-concert, SHINee gave their adoring fans a preview of what's to come off their latest repackaged album by sharing their group photos as well as its lead track titled “Atlantis.”

The group also had one-of-a-kind VCRs for their tracks “Kind” and “Chemistry.”

Taemin described the song as the “feeling of meeting someone for the first time” and comparing the unknown feeling to the fictional mid-Atlantic continent that sunk in the ocean.

The group also commended rapper Minho for participating in the composition of its lyrics, to which the idol humbly replied, “No, no! Changmo participated in the rap verse and helped me compose the rap. I'm really grateful to him for helping me complete the song.”

According to Key, “Atlantis” was considered to be one of the title tracks before “Don't Call Me” so they had to put it in the vault somewhere for safekeeping before taking it out for the repackaged album.

In the end, the group once again thanked their fans and hoped that they could meet each other as soon as the pandemic is over.

“I hope we can talk to you very soon. I want to pour my heart out these days. Thank you so much,” a teary-eyed Onew said before composing himself as he smiled in front of his fans.

Taemin added, “When you're worn out in your busy life and we're not around, I hope you find comfort with us. Come back to us when you feel hurt and exhausted. Promise?”

The group also ushered in the beginning of their Atlantis era with a new profile photo and a set of teaser images in their social media accounts.
