By Michelle Caligan

SHINee just keeps coming back in 2021 and we aren't complaining.

After surprising fans with the unexpected release of “SUPERSTAR” on various digital platforms last May 24, K-pop boy group SHINee has finally dropped the music video for the said Japanese single on Tuesday, June 29.

The three-minute video, which was filmed before member Taemin's military enlistment, shows the boys in both formal and casual clothes in various backdrops having fun and just being their playful selves.

“SUPERSTAR” was previously described by Japanese entertainment news site Modelpress as “a minimal and addictive cheering song with lyrics that contain messages of encouragement from SHINee.”

Part of the lyrics goes: “Hey girl, it's your world / It's all up to you / we can all be a Superstar / Hey, baby it's your life / No one else can take the leading role, you know / You're a Superstar / It's up to you, how the future holds / Be free and live it, one step at a time / No one can stop you, you can go beyond / Keep believing in yourself / Like a Superstar.”
