EXO's Kai tests positive for COVID-19

EXO member Kim Jongin, popularly known as Kai, has been diagnosed with COVID-19, Korean media reports.

Naver News and Soompi posted an official statement from EXO's music label, SM Entertainment, confirming Kai's diagnosis.

"Hello, this is SM Entertainment.

"On March 14, EXO's Kai was diagnosed with COVID-19.

"Kai has completed two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. He has currently halted all activities and is undergoing home treatment in accordance with the guidelines of the disease control authorities.

"We will thoroughly comply with the guidelines of the disease control authorities and do our best so that [Kai] can focus on recovery as we consider the health and safety of our artists as a top priority. Thank you."

Recently, other idols under SM Entertainment, including members of Red Velvet, SHINee, and Super Junior, have also tested positive for the coronavirus.

South Korea is currently experiencing a strong surge in COVID-19 cases amid the rise of Omicron cases. The country's new daily cases have stayed above 300,000 for four straight days as it battles its worst virus wave yet.
