SEVENTEEN bags two awards at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards

By Jashley Ann Cruz

Kpop boy band SEVENTEEN has proven their reign encompasses Asia as they dominate the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) and bag two highly-acclaimed accolades at the famous international awards show.

SEVENTEEN deservingly won the Best New Artist and Best PUSH Artist titles during the one-of-a-kind celebration of music. The boy group comprising members S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino officially became the first Korean act to win Best New Artist at the MTV EMAs.

During this year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), SEVENTEEN also received three nominations; Best New Artist, Push Performance of the Year, and Best K-pop. The well-loved boy band won the Push Performance of the Year award. Apart from that, SEVENTEEN also became the first K-pop artist to appear on MTV's 'We Speak Music' segment on YouTube with their impeccable performance of their song “CHEERS.”

With the number of music releases and appearances SEVENTEEN has made this year, there's no doubt they deserve to be crowned as the best among the rest. Their passion for the craft has been evident since they dropped their first full English digital single “Dar+ling” in April.

On a hot streak, SEVENTEEN released their fourth studio album Face The Sun last May, launched its repackaged version SECTOR 17 last July, and dropped their first Japanese EP DREAM this November. They did all of this while embarking on their “Be The Sun” world tour in countries such as Korea, the Philippines, Japan, North America, and more.

And because they haven't had enough, after performing live in front of Filo Carats last October 8 and 9 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, SEVENTEEN is set to come back to the Philippines and perform at a bigger venue the very same year.

On December 17, 2022, the Kpop boy group will be serenading Filo Carats once again, but this time the concert will be held at The Philippine Arena in Bulacan. Tickets are still up for purchase via SM Tickets. Don't miss out on the opportunity to see the highly applauded world-class act of SEVENTEEN!
