The new deadline for the Miss Universe Philippines applications extends it by a week.
Women who want a shot at becoming the next Miss Universe Philippines still have time left to apply as the Miss Universe Philippines organization has extended the deadline for applications.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Miss Universe Philippines organization announced that the closing for its application period will be on February 5, 11:59 p.m. As of this writing, the post has more than 2,000 comments, 20,000 reactions, and has been shared more than 1,000 times.
The new announcement extends the application deadline by a week, as the November opening of applications pegged the deadline on January 29, 2023.
Current reigning Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi is currently in New Orleans, Louisiana as she prepares for the pageant's coronation night set to happen on January 15.
Since setting foot in the city, Celeste has been turning heads with a couple of outfits - a sparkly ensemble and an all-black ensemble.
Celeste has also been pretty in purple during the Miss Universe's registration, wearing her sash as she stands beside the sashes of the other pageant competitors.
At the dinner event held just this morning - evening in America - Celeste brought the glam with a golden dress designed by Michael Leyva.
Celeste will be competing for the “Force for Good” crown, which features 110 carats of blue sapphires and 48 carats of white diamonds and is estimated to be worth $6 million, or Php335,133,000 based on current exchange rates.
Aside from taking over for Celeste, interested applicants will also have to take the place of the rest of Celeste's Miss Universe court.
