Miss Universe Philippines opens on-site applications

By Ron Lim

Aspiring beauty queens willing to hand in their applications to the Miss Universe Philippines organization can start doing so now as the group has announced the start of on-site applications starting today until the 17th.

In a post on the official Instagram account of the organization, they shared that they would be accepting applications at the 4th floor East Wing Estancia Mall, Pasig City from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In the caption to the post, the organization said they are looking for a “phenomenal Filipina who embodies transformational leadership.”

The opening of on-site applications comes after the Miss Universe Philippines organization extended its application deadline anew. Those looking to send their applications online can still send in their applications until tomorrow, February 14. This extension is the second one the organization has made, as they had previously extended the application deadline to February 5.

Applicants who will make the cut will not just be competing for the chance to represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant, but also for two still unnamed pageants. The organization just announced last week that two crowns for international pageants will also be at stake.

The group made the announcement on social media, posting a photo of the current “La Mer en Majeste” crown and two other crowns in the background.

Whoever wins the Miss Universe Philippines crown will be taking over from Celeste Cortesi, who came back to the country late in January after she finished participating in the 2022 Miss Universe pageant.

Celeste spent her first few days back in the country at the Burgos Reef Boutique Resort in Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte. In the caption to one of her posts, Celeste described the location as “a little paradise.”
