The effectiveness of their opposing characters is unfaltering that Sunshine and Angelika have been pitted against each other for almost two decades.

Sunshine and Angelika first became rivals in the Kapuso mini-series Umulan Man o Umaraw in 2000. At that time, Sunshine played the villain to Angelika's character.

Following the success of their show, the two actresses were given another chance to showcase their on-screen bida-kontrabida relationship. In 2001, they topbilled Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin where Angelika continued to portray the protagonist and Sunshine the antagonist.

Their rivalry was revived more than a decade after via the drama series, Mundo Mo'y Akin. While they no longer played the lead cast, Sunshine and Angelika remained powerful actors in the show.
