Epy Quizon remembers lesson learned from his late father, Dolphy

By Racquel Quieta

'Voltes V: Legacy' stars Epy Quizon and Martin del Rosario recently made a guest appearance on 'Mars Pa More,' and during the 'Mars Sharing Group' segment they were asked to name people in their lives who they consider to be a “kontrabida” but were actually angels in disguise.

Epy Quizon named his parents as the “kontrabida” in his life that only wanted what was best for him.

“Like your mom, 'di ba? Number one 'yung nanay ko.”

The actor set to play Zuhl in 'Voltes V: Legacy' emphasized that he knows his mom was only opposing his interests because she was worried for his safety.

'Huwag kang nagmo-motor, ganyan.' It's because they don't want you to get hurt,” Epy said.

Epy also recalled how his father Dolphy, the late King of Comedy, used to let him do what he wants if he insists on doing so.

(laughs)”

Martin del Rosario, who set to play Prince Zardoz in 'Voltes V: Legacy,' said he had a similar experience as Epy. He said his parents were also the “kontrabida” in his life.

Martin revealed that he and his mom used to argue about him drinking with his friends then driving home.

He said it was inevitable for him to take some shots since he was a co-owner of a bar before and needed to entertain friends and guests.

But just as his mom feared, he learned the hard way that drinking and driving truly don't go together.

So ayon.
