Five times Lani Misalucha showed younger singers how it's done

By Jansen Ramos

Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha has been singing professionally since the 1990s and the reason why she has not lost her shine is because of her phenomenal talent which earned her praises all over the world.

Right now, the versatile singer graces the TV screens via the weekly GMA musical variety show All-Out Sundays.

Lani makes weekends even more exciting through her presence in the Kapuso singing competition The Clash 2021 where she is one of the judges, alongside the equally talented artists Comedy Concert Queen Aiai Delas Alas and Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista.

Lani returns to the competition as a judge with the intention of changing the lives of aspiring singers.

With her experience and knowledge in the performing arts, Lani is truly worthy of her position in the prestigious singing battle, not just as a judge, but also as a mentor and adviser to the Clashers.

To prove our point here are the times when Lani showed the younger singers what it takes to be a singing icon:

1. Impromptu performance

Remember when Lani had an impromptu performance of "Saving All My Love For You" in The Clash Season 3? Viewers as well as the Asia's Nightingale's co-judges Aiai Delas Alas and Christian Bautista were on the edge of their seats when they heard Lani's interpretation of the Whitney Houston classic to show the contestants how it's done.

2. Duet with a Clasher

Lani admitted that she misses performing in music lounges, so when she heard The Clash Season 2 finalist Lorraine Galvez performed her repertoire, "Orange-colored Sky," the versatile singer felt like she relived those times. So the audience's reaction? Do a duet with the bubbly Clasher and Lani did not disappoint!

3. Highest note

When it comes to reaching high notes, Lani is on top of her game. Remember when she and The Clash judges Aiai and Christian had an impromptu contest on who's going to hit the highest key in Tom Jones's "I Who Have Nothing?" The result, as expected, favored Lani!

4. Singing style

For Lani, judging a singing competition is not always 'dos and don'ts.' She makes sure to acknowledge the contestants' efforts, especially their singing style and what makes them stand out--an evident reason she is worthy of her position as a judge in The Clash.

5. Anecdotes and experience

Lani Misalucha has been in the business for years and she brought her experiences and anecdotes to the judges' table when critiquing the Clashers. Her stories are not only entertaining but insightful as well.
