32 areas to endure ‘danger level’ heat index on May 6, 2025

A “danger level” heat index is forecast for 32 areas, including two in Metro Manila, on Tuesday, May 6, PAGASA said Monday.
Based on the state weather bureau’s 5 p.m. May 5 bulletin, the synoptic stations in the following areas will measure a 42°C-45°C heat index:

- Catarman, Northern Samar
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur

PAGASA classifies heat indices between 42°C and 51°C under the danger category, which may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
The Department of Health advised Filipinos who have prolonged sun exposure to drink as much as 10 glasses of water daily, with the heat index reaching up to a dangerous 50°C in some areas in the country.
