Blackwater activates Miggy Corteza, Phoenix signs JC Cullar
Miggy Corteza and JC Cullar, former teammates in De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, will see more action in the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup.
Corteza on Thursday has been reactivated by Blackwater in lieu of Jaydee Tungcab who has been relegated to the team's injury/reserve list.
Corteza, drafted 20th overall by Rain or Shine from last year's draft, played with the Bossing during the first two conferences of the current season. He was, however, relegated to the reserve list in the All-Filipino Conference before being activated again.
Cullar, meanwhile, will finally get his first taste of PBA action as he signed with the Phoenix Fuel Masters.
The former Benilde captain confirmed the development to GMA News Online on Thursday.
Cullar, who was drafted 38th overall by Rain or Shine in 2023, also played for Makati and Nueva Ecija in the MPBL.
Cullar is also part of Benilde's coaching staff.
The two were teammates in Season 98 where the Blazers finished as runners-up to Colegio de San Juan de Letran.
