Imee wants Bongbong Marcos out for 'Team Itim' —Palace
Malacañang on Tuesday said that Senator Imee Marcos wants to oust her brother President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in order to advance her so-called “Team Itim.”
“Matanggal sa puwesto. Ano pa ba? Para i-angat ang kanyang ka-Team Itim. Yun lang naman yun e,” Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro told Dobol B TV in an interview when asked about the possible motive of Imee’s drug allegations against the President and his family.
(To remove the President from the position. What else? To elevate her fellow Team Itim. That’s all.)
When asked if she was referring to Vice President Sara Duterte, Castro said, “Sino ba yung nasa campaign ads nila na Team Itim? Kung sino man ang kasama niya sa Team Itim, yun na yun.”
(Who was in their campaign ads for Team Itim? Someone with her in Team Itim, that’s it.)
The President's sister had a political advertisement back in April where she was endorsed by the Vice President as they dubbed themselves as "Team Itim."
GMA News Online has reached out to Senator Marcos for comment, but she has yet to reply as of posting time.

Imee's Dare
During the rally of Iglesia ni Cristo at Quirino Grandstand in Manila on Monday, Imee accused the First Family of using illegal drugs.
On Tuesday, Presidential son and House Majority Leader, Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Ferdinand Alexander "Sandro" Marcos denied the accusations of his aunt.
Senator Marcos, meanwhile, dared her brother to undergo hair follicle drug test to dispel her accusations.
"Gustong paingayin ni Sandro ang usap-usapang hindi ako tunay na kapatid. Isa lamang ang solusyon: Magpapa-DNA test ako, magpa-hair follicle test sila," Imee said on a Facebook post.
(Sandro wants to make rumors of me not being a true Marcos. There is only one solution: I will take a DNA test and they will take a hair follicle test.)
Meanwhile, Castro maintained that there is no need for an updated drug test for the President as she said that the Chief Executive's work already shows that he is in good condition.
'Rehash'
In an interview with Balitanghali, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) chief Secretary Dave Gomez branded as rehash the call for the President to undergo a hair follicle test.
"Sabi ko nga lumang tugtugin na ito. Mas maraming importanteng bagay ang dapat tutukan ng ating Pangulo at ng ating pamahalaan, ng Kongreso, ng Senado, at ng executive department," said Gomez.
(As I have said, this is issue has been rehashed many times. There are a lot more important things that the President, the government, the Congress, the Senate, and the executive department should focus on.)
Gomez recalled the President faced similar accusations during the presidential campaign in 2021, prompting Marcos Jr. to take a drug test.
Marcos Jr. visited Bicol on Tuesday to inspect the areas affected by the onslaught of the recent typhoons. The PCO chief also said he was not privy to Imee's possible motive for making the accusations.
"If you will allow me, I would like to echo kung ano ang sinabi ng Simbahan. Nakikita nila sa ngayon na mukang may pandemic of lies. Maging mapanuri tayo sa ating information na tinatanggap at shine-share sa publiko dahil napakaraming kasinungalingan na nakikita natin but I am confident and hopeful the truth will prevail," Gomez said.
(If you will allow me, I would just like to echo what the Church said they are seeing—there is a pandemic of lies. We would like to ask the public to remain vigilant of the information they receive and share because there are a lot of lies right now but I am confident and hopeful the truth will prevail.)
ICI
INC staged a rally at Quirino Grandstand from Sunday to Monday to call for accountability for the anomalous flood control projects in the government.
Asked if Marcos is content with the investigation into the matter, Castro pointed out that concerned agencies have accomplished many things in three months.
“Ang pag-iimbestiga ngayon, three months pa lang, marami na pong nagawa,” she said.
(Just three months since the investigation and a lot has been done.)
“Nagsampa na po ng kaso ang DPWH. Nagre-recommend na ng pagkakaso ang ICI in just three months. May i-auction pang mga sasakyan sa November 20. Marami nang na-freeze na assets. Marami nang natanggal sa trabaho,” she added.
(The DPWH has already filed a case. The ICI is recommending filing a case in just three months. There will be an auction of vehicles on November 20. Many assets have already been frozen. Many have already been removed from their posts.) — Joviland Rita, with a report from Sundy Locus/ VAL/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
