Bold and Athletic: Ford Fiestaâs Kinetic Design With Fiesta, Ford is meeting growing customer demand for sporty small cars with a sleek, sophisticated design. The front end features the familiar Ford signature grille with the Blue Oval trademark. Sweeping, elongated headlamps frame the hood. The Fiesta's rear end stands out with chamfered rear lift gate glass, a low roofline, a spoiler and dramatic tail lamps with honeycomb detailing on hatchback models. Muscular rear quarter panels wrap tightly over the wheels, giving the car a bold, muscular look. The design features that set Fiesta apart on the outside also contribute to an inviting interior, with sculpted surfaces and contrasting colors. The instrument panel centre stack is designed to feel as familiar and useful as the keypad on popular hand-held electronic devices. Intuitive switchgear and comfort zone seating are just some of the features customers will enjoy.
The Fiesta body style and engine range The new Fiesta will be available in three models: Style, Trend and Sport. The three trim options are offered in the following configurations: Style is in a 1.4L 4-door manual transmission, while the Trend trim is available in both a 1.4L and a 1.6L engine in both 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback, and the Sport model boasts of a 1.6L 5-door hatch back body with 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission. All of these will be built in a new USD 500-million passenger car facility at AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT) in Rayong, Thailand. Style models are equipped with a 1.4L capacity in a four-door sedan body style powered by a 16-valve Duratec I4 engine. Trend models are available in both four- and five-door configurations with a choice of a the larger, more powerful 1.6L Twin independent â Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) engine in automatic transmission or a fuel-efficient 1.4L in manual transmission. With the higher output engine, Trend and Sport models also receive the new six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission as standard equipment in the 1.6L engine. The Sport and Trend models are equipped with Fordâs Electronic Stability Program and Hill Launch Assist as standard equipment on the 1.6L engine.
Fiesta Fun⦠and fuel efficient Ford Fiesta delivers on spirited performance and fuel efficiency. The standard 1.4-litre is a proven performer with 95 PS (70kW) at 5750rpm while the larger 1.6-litre engine provides 121 PS (89kW) at 6000rpm. Both engines are designed to run with Ethanol 20 fuel, 91 RON and 95 RON. The new PowerShift six-speed automatic transmission, available with the larger 1.6-litre engine, combines the responsive performance and fuel economy of a manual, with the convenience of an automatic, perfect for urban driving. With six forward gears, the engine speed is optimized for smooth transmission, performance and fuel economy. This technologically advanced transmission is normally found in larger, more expensive vehicles. Hill Launch Assist is another important safety feature that keeps the car still on an incline without having to use the handbrake, preventing the vehicle from rolling back. Brake pressure is maintained until the engine delivers enough torque to move the vehicle up the hill, providing improved driver confidence and comfort. The system works in forward and reverse gears.
Strength, safety, quality and quiet The new Fiesta is strong on safety features. An Anti-Lock Braking (ABS) system with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) is standard across the entire Fiesta range. EBD automatically varies the amount of force applied to each of a vehicle's brakes based on road conditions, speed and loading to maximize stopping power while still maintaining control of the vehicle. The Sport model as well as the 1.6L Trend models come equipped with Ford's Electronic Stability Program (ESP), a first in the Philippinesâ small car segment. ESP senses when your vehicle is losing road grip and automatically applies braking force to individual wheels, to stabilise it in all driving conditions. Both models also feature standard traction control. Specially tuned front struts, bushings, damper stabiliser bars and a rear twist-beam axle provide sure-footed performance and comfort. Fiesta's ability to hug the road and cruise quietly is made possible by its rigid body structure, which Ford engineers have strengthened in many critical areas. More than 55 percent of the structure uses high-strength steel with ultra-strong boron steel reinforcing several key points. The result is best-in-class occupant safety: passengers are better protected in the event of a side impact. Safety is also enhanced by standard driver airbags on all models and a passenger-side airbag on the Sport model. Customers will notice lower levels of road noise due to the use of an exclusive, specially- laminated windshield. A hood blanket keeps a lid on engine noise and double door seals help reduce wind noise.
Irresistibly connected âthe Ford Fiesta way All new Fiesta models are equipped with MP3 and AUX input connections for personal entertainment devices. The Sport model is also equipped with Voice Control technology paired with Bluetooth®, another first-in-segment feature. This provides wireless connectivity to a mobile phone, allowing you to use your voice to make and receive calls, change the radio station or music track, all playing through a six-speaker sound system. Sport models also are available with a USB plug-in feature.
Full range of Fiesta colors available A full rainbow of colors will be available for Fiesta models. The color palate for four-door models includes Cool White, Highlight Silver, Sparkling Gold, Ice Blue and Black Mica. Five-door models also include True Red, Aurora Blue and Chili Orange.
