The families were brought to the GMA Network Center in Quezon City by the Third Mechanized Infantry Battalion stationed in San Jose, Tarlac. Lt. Col. Jun Torres, battalion leader, said the coordination of the Armed Forces of the Philippines with corporations like GMA introduces a "shift" in the military's strategy to restore order in the countryside by using "instruments of peace" instead of guns. "We link [our kababayans from] remote areas with organizations like GMA para mabigyan po sila ng pag-asa. Naniniwala po kami na kapag nabigyan natin sila ng pag-asa, mawawala ang problema -- titigil po ang digmaan," Torres said during the program. Hosted by comic Survivor duo Maey Bautista and Albert "Betong" Sumaya, the event was enlivened by presentations from Kapuso talents such as Tween star Bea Binene, Angel Satsumi (Pepito Manaloto), Bodjie Cruz (Blusang Itim), and Sean Samonte (Promil I-Shine winner). Protege grand champion Krizza Neri also rendered two songs for the audience together with her mentor, Aiza Seguerra.
