Grace to the finish fun run for a cause

We are the Singles Apostolate of St. James the Great Parish Renewal Movement, a community of friends who gather to learn, share and inspire the community by learning more about God’s Word. The projects of the parish are centered towards the spiritual growth of our youth, young adults and married couples as well as outreach activities to the surrounding communities of the Parish.   

Inspired by the successful fun run organized last May, the Singles Apostolate is proud to host another fundraiser run, GRACE TO THE FINISH, that will be held on January 29, 2012 (Sunday) and will take place within the Ayala Alabang Village. 

The proceeds of this event shall fund the Singles Encounter Weekend #20, a retreat that will bring change in the lives of a lot of our young adults and deepen their personal relationship with God. The Apostolate shall also use the proceeds for the spiritual, physical and economic programs of our adopted community, Sitio Espeleta Pantalan, in Poblacion Muntinlupa City. It is a poor community that the Apostolate has chosen as the beneficiary of all its outreach activities.

Beneficiaries

 

One is the Singles Encounter Weekend Retreat – a retreat aimed to give individuals a personal encounter with God. I’ve had several friends who’ve tried this and they really seemed like they gained a lot from the experience.

 

The second beneficiary is Sitio Espeleta, Muntinlupa – a community of relocated informal settlers that is in great need of generosity and support.

 

Saint James Renewal Movement has adopted Sitio Espeleta Pantalan, in Poblacion Muntinlupa City as the beneficiary of its outreach activities. It is a poor community adjacent to Laguna de Bay and under normal condition, it is inundated with water four to five months in a year. Generally, homes are made of light materials and most do not have toilets. Many residents are unemployed while others work as construction workers, domestic helps and garbage sorters.
