A country romance at Discovery Country Suites in Tagaytay

Experience romance in the country at an intimate seven-suite manor perched on the picturesque ridges of Tagaytay City.  Discovery Country Suites, the first luxury Bed & Breakfast in Tagaytay, presents The Kiss, a Valentine package offered February 10 – 14, 2012.  Overnight rates range from P 10,000++ for a De Luxe suite and P 11,000++ for a Premier Suite.  All rates are inclusive of Wine and Cheese cocktails, romantic turndown amenities and a set dinner for 2 at the acclaimed Restaurant Verbena.  

 

Restaurant Verbena will feature an annual favorite, a His and Her menu which has consistently fired-up amorous feelings of visitors on Valentine’s past. This year, the menu “For Him” will have a Latin flavor and will consist of fresh-sucked Oysters with pimiento cocktail sauce, citrus and cognac.  This is followed by a creamy sweet corn velouté with queso fresco & black truffle “buñuelitos”.  The next course will have him choose between crispy soft shell crab with dried mango salsa and avocado or Seared Chilean sea bass fillet with roasted pumpkin puree, ginger, brown butter and basil.  The main dish in this menu is U.S. Angus rib eye steak with “salsa chimichurri”, crispy cassava frites, black bean puree and tomato condiment.  To cap his delicious spread is malagos Davao classic chevre with orange-olive oil caramel and sweet potato together with Verbena’s signature dessert chocolate marquis with baby banana “tres leches” complimented with the Tagaytay herbal infusion.

 

The menu for HER will have a modern French theme that will start with Oysters with spinach pernod cream and caviar.

                                                                                                           

This will be followed by corn agnolotti with lobster, creamy bisque and tarragon. Her seafood choices are crispy soft shell crab with cauliflower “grenobloise”, capers and parsley or slow-baked Norwegian salmon fillet with apple-rosemary puree, vegetable julienne and horseradish.  Her main entrée is a U.S. Angus rib eye steak with potatoes “aligot”, mushrooms, baby green beans and deep red wine sauce.  To cap her delicious spread is malagos davao classic chevre with roasted beets, basil and balsamic together with Verbena’s signature dessert chocolate marquise with brown butter strawberries, Chantilly, almonds and black pepper complimented with the Tagaytay herbal infusion.

 

The special set menu for Him and Her is available for lunch and dinner and priced at P 2,250+ per person. Couples who opt to include wine in their menu may do so at

P 595+ for 2 courses and P 895+ for 3 courses.
