Unveiling the first V-KOOL green store concept
V-KOOL®, the world’s first spectrally selective window film has landed in Philippines. It is an advanced thin film stack sputtered with rare and expensive metals like silver, indium and fortified with gold to achieve maximum heat rejection of up to 98% when retrofitted onto automotive glass.

The window film industry in Philippines is highly fragmented and unstructured. With more than few hundred film offerings, window film operators, car dealerships and end consumers can simply be overwhelmed. “The advent of V-KOOL signifies how premium window film can be experiential, professionally sold and installed in a full fledged retail environment that is the first in the Philippines window film industry. Car owners will be able to experience V-KOOL film performance by walking through the proprietary heat tunnel demo, while window film operators could expect an internationally proven franchise recipe to leapfrog competition. For car dealerships, it is about getting hassle free services to meet the window film needs of car buyers more effectively with V-KOOL, said Mr. Willy Q. Tee Ten, President, V-KOOL Phils Inc (VKP) and Autohub Philippines Group.
In addition, VKP has also put up the world first V-KOOL Green Store for its flagship outlet in Otis Manila, aim at reducing the environmental impact of its business operations. Hence, from air-conditioning units in their showroom to the non-toxic paints, from the recycled materials, recycle bins in the showroom to the Envirocare bags are all pro-environment. Even the materials used in the production of marketing collaterals are made out of recycled papers. With car owners seeking to mitigate their carbon footprints while enjoying a cooler ride,” Mr Willy opined that a car coated with V-KOOL is expected to reduce interior car temperature by at least 6 degree celcius, achieve fuel economy of 3%, reduces 132kg of CO2 emission per car per annum or equivalent to 11 trees saved in a year.
“Not all films are created the same, and experiencing V-KOOL’s intrinsic properties can help consumers make an informed decision. The advent of V-KOOL in Philippines is timely and we are honored to partner VKP, backed by a high growth enterprise, Autohub Group, to raise the bar of excellence in the window film industry,” said Mr Travis Smith, Vice President and General Manager, Performance Films, Eastman Chemical Company.
V-KOOL is currently available in close to 30 countries with more than 1,500 retail points. The films are manufactured in the United States using advanced multi-layered sputtering technology. Press release and photo from V-KOOL Phils Inc
