Aboitiz Group cited for good corporate governance
The Aboitiz Group garnered several citations in the recently concluded Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2013 by Corporate Governance Asia, including the Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Best Investor Relations Company Awards for Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV), and Best Environmental Responsibility Award for AboitizPower (AP).

Erramon Aboitiz of AEV was also cited as one of Asia’s Best CEOs(Philippines) and Iker Aboitiz of AP as one of Asia’s Best Chief Finance Officers (Philippines).
The 3rd Asian Excellence Recognition Awards cites excellence in investor communications, business ethics, CSR, environmental practices and financial performance. Selection of the winners was based on interviews conducted with investors and data submitted by readers of Corporate Governance Asia, a publication dedicated to improve the standards of corporate governance in Asia.

Basic good governance practices give stakeholders the confidence and peace of mind that inside and outside the company, policies and procedures are firmly in place to ensure faithful compliance with legal and ethical business practices," Erramon Aboitiz, CEO of AEV said.
Aboitiz added that good corporate governance "serves as the gate value for transparency and accountability in the organization, ensuring that the actor and the acts are always subject to scrutiny and thus deter any attempt at wrongdoing."
