FedEx donated 1,000 native tree seedlings and planted them in the Baras communal forest, one of the country’s remaining rainforests. This initiative has helped conserve biodiversity and protect the ecosystem from forest reduction and natural hazards. The new seedlings are also aiding carbon emission reduction by as much as 192 tons, and have helped to enhance the sustainable livelihood options of the 32,000 people in the Baras community. Through this activity, FedEx is contributing to its own commitment to reduce global CO2 emissions by 30 percent and improve fuel efficiency of the FedEx fleet by the year 2020.   For more information, visit the FedEx website.
