Tiger Airways opens Kalibo-Singapore route

Tiger Airways recently announced that it will start flying daily to Singapore via Kalibo on July 18, 2013. Kalibo-Singapore flights are scheduled at 8:10 a.m. while the airline will fly Singapore-Kalibo at 12:25 p.m.
“This is great news not only for Singapore tourists but for all our passengers in the Tiger route network. From Kalibo, one of the top fiesta destinations in the Philippines, it will be faster for passengers to reach the paradise that is Boracay,” said Olive Ramos, CEO of South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR), Tiger Airways’ partner in the Philippines.
“At Tiger, we explore route networks that will bring our guests faster and more conveniently to major destinations and tourist attractions across the region,” she added. “Boracay is one destination that visitors would want to return to time and again for a picturesque sun-sand-sea escapade, and we want to make it easier for our customers to do so by bringing the beaches closer to them and at affordable prices.”
Tiger Airways is offering an introductory one-way fare as low as P2,499 for travel from July 18, 2013 to March 29, 2014. Passengers can book their flights on www.tigerairways.com.
The Kalibo-Singapore flights are set every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. From August 16 to October 25, 2013, an additional Friday flight will be available.
The fourth leading financial center and one of the five busiest ports in the world, Singapore offers tourists a range of cultural, informational, and entertaining experiences with places like the Singapore Zoo, acclaimed as one of the world’s most spectacular zoos; Singapore Botanic Gardens; Chinatown Heritage Center; CHIJMES, a national heritage site filled with restaurants and shops; and the Universal Studios Singapore at the Resorts World Sentosa.
Kalibo is the entryway to the island paradise of Boracay, declared the “Best Beach in Asia” in a 2013 survey, as reported by the Department of Tourism (DOT). Boracay has lured travellers from the four corners of the world to its pristine four-kilometer stretch of fine white sand and clear blue waters. For those with an adventurous streak, Bulabog Beach on the ‘wilder side’ of the island is one of the top windsurfing spots in Asia. Kalibo International Airport is just an hour and 30 minutes away by land transportation to Boracay.
Tiger Airways, with flights operated by SEAIR, has a fleet of two new 144-seater Airbus 319s and three 180-seater Airbus 320s. It offers flights from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 4 (Manila Domestic Airport) to Bacolod, Laoag, Tacloban, Iloilo, Cebu, Kalibo, and Puerto Princesa. From Clark International Airport, it flies to Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Kalibo. It is now the only budget carrier to offer a direct Kalibo-Singapore route.
