DLSU’s topnotch performance in board exams


De La Salle graduates once again registered high passing percentages in recent licensure exams, with two examinees emerging as number one for Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. In the Licensure Examinations for Teachers, Lasallians garnered a 100 percent passing rate in the Secondary Level and 95 percent passing rate in the Elementary Level. The national passing rate was 39.61 percent and 27.70 percent, respectively.
 
DLSU was the only school ranked as top performing school by the Professional Regulation Commission in the Certified Public Accountant board exams with 96.36 percent passing rate and in Civil Engineering with 98.46 percent passing rate.
 
With a passing rate of 86.21 percent, DLSU was the second top performing school (with 50 or more examinees) in Mechanical Engineering.  The national passing rate was 49.57 percent.
 
The University recorded a passing percentage of 69.57 percent in Chemical Engineering and 58.46 percent in Electronics Engineering. The national passing rate was 46.80 percent and 37.05 percent, respectively.
 
The topnotchers for the March 2013 Mechanical Engineering exam include Joseph Paris Talampas who ranked first with a passing rate of 93.95 percent, followed by Samuelson Anthony Dugay Sylim in second with a score of 93.70 percent, Aaron Ferdinand Dee Bea in third with 93.25 percent, Rey Andrew Ang Gatmaitan ranked eighth with 89.90 percent, and Mar John Vicente Macabodbod in tenth place with 89.45 percent.
 
Those in the top ten for the April 2013 Electronics Engineering exam are Marvin Neil Solis Cabueñas in fourth place with a score of 90.50 percent and Stephen Janz Revillo Serafico and Jenny Jane Ong Tan both in seventh place with a score of 88.50 percent.
 
The topnotchers for the May 2013 CPA board exams are Hazel Valerie Ngo Sy in sixth place with a score of 93.29 percent, Jon Vincent Ngo Ong in seventh with 93.14 percent, and Kathleen Rivera Samonte who ranked ninth with 92.43 percent.
 
Finally, included in the top ten of the May 2013 Civil Engineering board exams are Rigel Dante Sebastian Napa in first place with a passing rate of 93.80 percent, Justine Pe Benito Belandres in third with a score of 93.45 percent, and Marabelle Rañosa Del Prado in eight place with 92.70 percent.
