Vicente Paterno named 2013 recipient of the Ramon V. del Rosario Sr. Award for Nation Building


Vicente T. Paterno, Chairman of the Board of Philippine Seven Corporation, has been named the 2013 recipient of the Ramon V. del Rosario, Sr. (RVR) Award for Nation Building.
Vicente T. Paterno, Chairman of the Board of Philippine Seven Corporation, has been named the 2013 recipient of the Ramon V. del Rosario, Sr. (RVR) Award for Nation Building.

The RVR Award for Nation Building is a project of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Manila, in cooperation with the Asian Institute of Management – Ramon V. del Rosario, Sr. Center for Corporate Social Responsibility (AIM-RVR CSR Center). The award recognizes distinguished corporate citizens who have answered the call to serve society.

“In naming Vicente T. Paterno as the 2013 recipient of the RVR Award for Nation Building, we recognize his exemplary personal life and professional career, marked by outstanding achievements,” remarked Ramon R. del Rosario, Jr. of the AIM-RVR CSR Center. “He attained success as a socially responsible entrepreneur and a dedicated public servant, who continues to tirelessly work at the task of nation-building in a way that best exemplifies the life and work of the late Ambassador Ramon V. del Rosario, Sr., for whom the award is dedicated.”

Paterno also served as the President of the Philippine National Oil Company and held key positions in government, including Senator from 1987 to 1992 and Minister of Public Highways from 1979 to 1980.

This year’s board of judges included Chief Justice Artemio V. Panganiban, PHINMA Chairman and CEO Oscar J. Hilado, former AIM President Edilberto C. de Jesus, PHINMA CFO Victor J. del Rosario, JCI Manila Secretary Jonas Ang, and two previous recipients of the RVR Award for Nation Building, Ambassador Jesus P. Tambunting and Ultrex Management and Investments Corp. President Senen C. Bacani. The members of the Award Steering Committee include Ramon R. del Rosario, Jr., Juan Miguel R. del Rosario, Francisco L. Roman, Rose F. Quiambao, Ramiro Villavicencio, and Gilbert Go.
