DLSU School of Economics Visiting Professor lecture on decision-making on August 14 and 16


DLSU School of Economics in cooperation with the University Research Coordination Office is pleased to announce the lecture of Visiting Professor, Dr. Alfredo Paloyo on "Experimental and non-experimental approaches to impact evaluation for evidence-based decision-making."
 
The lecture will be held on August 14 and 16, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Don Enrique T. Yuchengco Hall.
 
This is a two-part lecture series open to the general public. Part 1 is “Using Randomized Controlled Trials to Evaluate Interventions and Improve Policy,” which will be held at Y507 and Y508. Part 2, “Issues and Common Pitfalls in Randomized Evaluations,” will be held at Y407.
 
About the speaker
 
Dr. Alfredo Paloyo is a Lecturer at the University of Wollongong in Australia. He completed his doctoral studies at the Ruhr Graduate School in Economics in Germany and was recently employed as a researcher in the Labor Markets, Education, and Population department of the Rheinisch-Westfaelisches Institut fuer Wirtschaftsforschung in Germany. 
 
His research focus is on the evaluation of public policy and their socioeconomic effects. His works have been published in the European Economic Review, Defence and Peace Economics, Journal of Economic Surveys, and Social Science Quarterly.
