One more Filipino will join the AXE Apollo Space Camp® via AXE Hyperdrive Promo
After months of grueling search, the AXE Apollo Space Academy® has finally found two of the country’s three official representatives to the AXE Apollo Space Camp® in Florida, USA.
 
Lt. Mario Mendoza Jr. of Taytay, Rizal and Evan Rey Datuin of Dasmariñas, Cavite topped a field of 400 contenders in a series of physical tests, to emerge victorious at the AXE Apollo National Challenge held at the Bonifacio Global City.
 
“We congratulate Mario and Evan for winning in the challenge and earning their tickets to the AXE Apollo Space Camp® early next year. The good news is, we’re giving one morelucky Pinoy the chance to join them through the AXE ApolloHyperdrive Promo,” said AXE Philippines brand manager Gem Laforteza.
 
The promo will be the final chance to join the AXE Apollo Space Camp® and compete for the title of first Filipino astronaut. The winner of the promo will be declared the third candidate and will complete the Filipino delegation to the Space Camp.
 
To join the AXE Apollo Hyperdrive Promo, participants must purchase a can of AXE Apollo Body Spray, text AXE<space>name of store<space>last three digits of the receipt number and send to 2600. An electronic raffle will be held to determine the winner. Only one winner will be declared as the third representative to the AXE Apollo Space Camp®, but each raffle entry also gives participants a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Smartphone as a weekly consolation prize. The promo runs until September 29, 2013.
 
“AXE is looking forward to giving fans another chance to experience this out-of-this-world adventure. Through the promo, we wish to encourage more Filipinos to join the space race and prove that nothing truly beats an astronaut,” said Laforteza.
 
The three delegates will join participants from other countries in the AXE Apollo Space Camp®, where they will undergo various training methods for the trip, ranging from zero-gravity test flights to centrifuges simulating the same extreme G-Force astronauts are exposed to.
 
22 astronauts, including one from the Philippines, will take a 103-kilometer trip to space aboard the X-COR AXE Suborbital Spacecraft by X-COR Technologies.
